Kentucky Lake

Though the primary focus of this site is on backpacking, we do enjoy an occasional car-camping trip with friends.  This spot on Kentucky Lake is one of the best.....right on the water and well away from the other camp sites.

Shepherd's Pie

One of the luxuries of car-camping is being able to step away from the backpacking dehydrated menu and step into delicious bliss. Yeah, this Shepherd's Pie rocks.

Flower

There are more than 200 miles of hiking trails in LBL including a number of back country trails and campsites.

 Lake

More than 300 miles of undeveloped lake shoreline are found in Land Between the Lakes.

Not an Eagle

The eagle population has made a great recovery in this area over recent years. When I saw this bird hanging in the trees, I thought, hmmmm! But on closer inspection.....well at least the buzzard stuck around for a few shots.

Sunset

Land Between the Lakes (LBL) is comprised of more than 170,000 acres in Tennessee and Kentucky and is flanked by Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.

Smores Cookery

Car-camping also allows for indulgences like fire-roasted hotdogs, smores and other healthy stuff.
